What Is Computer Vision?

This is an eye condition that occurs because looking at a computer screen is hard on the eyes. It's harder to read text on a screen than printed text, so your eyes have to work harder. This causes eye strain and other problems, and it can give you a wide range of annoying symptoms. If you think you have this syndrome, it can be important to see an “optometrist near me” to get treatments. There are many ways that this condition can be treated so that you feel better and have fewer symptoms.

Do I Have the Symptoms of Computer Vision Syndrome?

This condition can come with a wide range of symptoms. Feeling eye strain is a major symptom that you may feel, as are tired eyes and eye fatigue. Your eyes may get too dry, or your eyes may water, or you may have both at different times. Your eyes may turn red, and they may itch. Computer vision can cause you to have blurry vision and double vision. There are even symptoms that are in other areas of your body. You could get shoulder or neck pain, and you may have headaches from the eye strain. If you notice any of the symptoms, see our optometrist for treatment.

What Are the Treatments for Computer Vision?

There are several ways that computer vision can be treated. One way is to take a lot of breaks from looking at the computer throughout the day. Every 20 minutes, you can look away from it for 20 seconds and look at something that is 20 feet away. You can also straighten up your posture and adjust your computer screen so that it's at a better angle for better posture and less glare on the screen. You can also get computer glasses. Blue light lenses can help block the harmful blue light that is a part of the light you see from the computer. You can also try to blink more often when you're looking at the computer so that your eyes won't get as dry.
